Community Involvement
Athena Enterprises shares its expertise with area mentors such as SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives - a volunteer group of business mentors) to strengthen and update their counselor skills to help other small or struggling businesses. To learn more go to www.score.org.
Athena Enterprises supports the Capitol Region Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program - including the various charity events and programs that the committee supports. This program provides college scholarship funds to outstanding high school senior girls and feeds the state and national Distinguished Young Women of America Scholarship Programs (AJM is a 50+ year old academic scholarship program with 5 core areas of competition including scholastics, interview, talent, fitness and self-expression). Athena Enterprises consultants participate in National Money Matters Day, sponsored by the American Payroll Association. Volunteers go to area high schools to teach young people (new workers) about wage and hour rules, employment taxes, timekeeping and expectations about compensation in the workplace.
